\u00a0\"Amity\"<\/a>Dear Friends,Unite to Rebuild Lives in\u00a0Sichuan<\/strong>The\u00a05.12\u00a0Sichuan Earthquake has taken nearly 70,000 lives, with many still missing and presumed killed.\u00a0\u00a0Homes for millions have been destroyed and the loss to property is so enormous as to defy accurate estimation.\u00a0\u00a0My visits to badly-hit areas in Sichuan over the last few months have confirmed our worst fear that it will take years to rebuild the houses, infrastructure and the basic necessities in life for millions of people.<\/p>\n

The Amity Foundation was one of the first few organizations to arrive at the scene on that fateful day.\u00a0Ever since, we have been at the forefront providing direly needed relief to the victims in the worst hit areas such as Wenchuan, Beichuan, Mianzhu, Shefang, Pengzhou, Dujiangyen, etc.\u00a0\u00a0With your generous donations and the support from many well-wishers in\u00a0Hong Kong\u00a0and overseas, we have been providing relief and initial rehabilitation to over 400,000 of our compatriots.\u00a0\u00a0To date, over HK$10 m have been applied to such efforts and Amity\u2019s reconstruction works are underway.\u00a0\u00a0To this end, we intend to raise HK$50 m to support the rebuilding of houses and the water supply systems in\u00a0Woyun\u00a0Village, the reconstruction of a primary school inQingchun\u00a0County, and a church and social service facilities in\u00a0Mianzhu,\u00a0Sichuan.<\/p>\n

You continued support to our united effort will make a difference in bringing back hope and laughter to our brothers and sisters in these areas.<\/p>\n

As part of this campaign, we are organizing a dinner for Saturday, 9 May 2009 at the Mira Hotel, Tsimshatsui.\u00a0\u00a0The programme will include international cultural performances, a first-class magic show, songs by celebrated groups, and music by a rock band.\u00a0\u00a0The highlight of the evening will be an auction where rare items put under the gavel will include the special Bible commemorating the printing of the 60th<\/sup>\u00a0million copy by our Amity Printing Company in\u00a0Nanjing.\u00a0\u00a0You are cordially invited to join us on this special occasion combining charity and entertainment.\u00a0\u00a0You are also welcome to spread the word around so more could take part in this meaningful event.<\/p>\n

2008\u5e745.12\u5927\u5730\u9707\u7d66\u56db\u5ddd\u5e36\u4f86\u5927\u91cf\u7684\u50b7\u4ea1\u53ca\u4e0d\u8a08\u5176\u6578\u7684\u640d\u5931\u3002\u5341\u500b\u6708\u4f86\uff0c\u611b\u5fb7\u57fa\u91d1\u6703\u4e00\u76f4\u5805\u6301\u5728\u707d\u5340\u6700\u524d\u7dda\uff0c\u70ba\u53d7\u5f71\u97ff\u7684\u707d\u6c11\u63d0\u4f9b\u7dca\u6025\u6551\u63f4\u53ca\u91cd\u5efa\u5de5\u4f5c\u3002\u611b\u5fb7\u57fa\u91d1\u6703\u5728\u56db\u5ddd\u7701\u7684\u5317\u5ddd\u3001\u7dbf\u7af9\u3001\u6c76\u5ddd\u3001\u4ec0\u90a1\u3001\u5f6d\u5dde\u3001\u90fd\u6c5f\u5830\u3001\u8302\u7e23\u3001\u904a\u4ed9\u3001\u9752\u5ddd\uff0c\u965d\u897f\u7701\u7684\u752f\u5f37\u3001\u7565\u967d\u548c\u7518\u8085\u7701\u7684\u6587\u7e23\u7b49\u91cd\u707d\u5340\uff0c\u5411\u53d7\u707d\u7fa4\u773e\u767c\u653e\u8fd11,000\u842c\u5143\u4eba\u6c11\u5e63\u7dca\u6025\u6551\u63f4\u7269\u8cc7\uff0c\u60e0\u53ca\u707d\u6c11\u903e40\u842c\u4eba\u3002\u76ee\u524d\uff0c\u672c\u6703\u914d\u5408\u570b\u5bb6\u5c0d\u53e3\u652f\u63f4\u7684\u5b89\u6392\uff0c\u5df2\u5728\u6975\u91cd\u707d\u5340\u7dbf\u7af9\u5e02\u53ca\u5468\u908a\u7684\u5ee3\u6fdf\u93ae\u81e5\u96f2\u6751\uff0c\u958b\u5c55\u7e3d\u503c5,000\u842c\u5143\u4eba\u6c11\u5e63\u7684\u91cd\u5efa\u5de5\u4f5c\uff0c\u5e6b\u52a9\u707d\u5340\u4eba\u6c11\u6062\u5fa9\u751f\u7522\uff0c\u6539\u5584\u751f\u6d3b\u53ca\u6559\u80b2\u689d\u4ef6\u3002\u5176\u4e2d\u4e5f\u5305\u62ec\u63f4\u52a9\u7dbf\u7af9\u5e02\u6559\u5802\u91cd\u5efa\uff0c\u4ee5\u4fbf\u8a72\u5802\u6559\u53cb\u53ef\u900f\u904e\u5404\u985e\u793e\u6703\u670d\u52d9\uff0c\u6301\u7e8c\u5730\u652f\u63f4\u6709\u9700\u8981\u7684\u5e02\u6c11\u3002<\/p>\n

\u70ba\u4e86\u5bb6\u5712\u76e1\u6bc0\u7684\u4eba\u5011\u5e36\u4f86\u5e0c\u671b\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u58be\u8acb\u81fa\u7e7c\u7e8c\u652f\u6301\u611b\u5fb7\u57fa\u91d1\u6703\u5728\u5730\u9707\u707d\u5340\u91cd\u5efa\u4e8b\u5de5\u3002<\/p>\n
