Many thanks to Mr. <\/span>Ron CHAN Long Huen<\/b>, an experienced pilot of easyJet, for sharing with our students his passion for aeronautics and his experiences as a pilot on 8 April 2024. The participating students gained valuable insights from his personal journey of being a pilot and demonstration on the flight simulator at our STEM & Innovation Centre. <\/span><\/p>\n

Mr. Ron CHAN provided the students with practical advice on venturing on the career path of a pilot. He emphasized the significance of developing both soft and hard skills required to become a successful pilot, including having backup plans, fine-tuning one\u2019s personality traits, and being able to communicate fluently in English. He also suggested realistic and attainable methods for obtaining professional accreditation in aeronautics.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>After the Q&A session, Mr. Ron CHAN gave an in-depth explanation of the flight instruments and demonstrated how to operate them through a state-of-the-art flight simulator at our STEM & Innovation Centre.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Two of our students also gave it a try under Mr. Ron CHAN\u2019s supervision and guidance. They were taught the basic mechanisms of a cockpit and matching the geological features of a landing zone from a plane.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>At the end of the session, our students reflected on the sharing and the insights they gained from it. Everyone had interesting conversations with Mr. Ron CHAN.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>All in all, this was an incredibly rewarding experience for all parties involved.<\/span><\/p>\n
