March 29, 2025 witnessed the Grand Finals of the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Group (HKFYG) English Public Speaking Contest 2025.

Emerging as two of the ten Grand Finalists selected from more than 1,800 competitors from 200 schools in the Preliminary Round, LAU Jaren Yiu Tin (F2B) and GUO Yuhan (F5E) gave impressive performances in the Grand Finals and were awarded the First Runner-up in the Junior Secondary Division and the Senior Secondary Division respectively. Yuhan was also voted by the audience for the Audience Favorite Award in the Senior Secondary Division.

Jaren and Yuhan had advanced from the District Preliminary Rounds to District Semi Finals, District Finals and finally to Grand Finals where five grand finalists in each division showcased their skills in prepared and impromptu speeches. To prepare themselves for the live performances, Jaren and Yuhan went to different classes to deliver their speeches and answer impromptu questions. The two boys sparked much excitement and interest in English public speaking in the process.

We extend our deepest gratitude to our coaches of the Grand Finals for volunteering much of their time and expertise in coaching.
