On 22nd May 2026, the School community gathered with warmth and gratitude to celebrate the 44th Speech Day — a memorable event honouring both the accomplishments of the Class of 2026 and the collective efforts of the wider school family. The ceremony brought together our F.6 graduates, their families, alumni, staff, and esteemed guests, including our Guest of Honour, Professor Ng Wang-wai Charles, the Vice-President for Institutional Advancement of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Professor Ng delivered an inspiring keynote address, in which he encouraged graduates to courageously and curiously pursue their personal interests with open-mindedness in a rapidly evolving world shaped by artificial intelligence. Ultimately, this journey of self-discovery should equip and empower them to make meaningful contributions to society.
Inspiring both reflections and optimism for the journey ahead, our guests’ insightful guidance and heartfelt blessings underscored the day’s significance. The presence of IMC Chairman Professor Edwin Chan, The Revd Ip, Clinton Tsang from the Tsang Family, previous Principals, Mr. Tong Kai-hong and Mr. Wang Yu Tai, alumni, and former staff highlighted the lifelong connections that define the TST community. This profound sense of belonging was perfectly framed by the day’s opening, where the familiar chords of the school song and the steady rhythm of the academic procession beautifully connected this year’s milestone to our enduring heritage.
In a retrospective address on the academic year, Principal Lam highlighted the school’s commitment to cultivating all-round student excellence. The speech commended both brilliant academic results and diverse extra-curricular achievements. Embracing the biblical principle, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive’ (Acts 20:35), the student body participated enthusiastically in community service. Crucially, the year saw our students thrive as leaders, showcasing their talents and representing the school with distinction in local, inter-school, and international competitions.
In a deeply moving and sincere Vote of Thanks, the graduate Liang Baoyue (F.6C) looked back on a transformative six-year TST journey, tracing the cohort’s evolution from hesitant Form 1 students to confident young adults. She commended her peers for cultivating essential values like wisdom, perseverance, gratitude, and unity along the way. Drawing a beautiful parallel to gardening, she described how the school community nurtured the graduates’ growth over the past six years. She closed her address with a resonant remark: “May our garden of memories bloom forever, and may each of us continue to blossom wherever life plants us.”
Towards the conclusion of the event, the atmosphere was further uplifted by a captivating choir performance of ‘May a rainbow run beside you’, sending a powerful final blessing to our graduates for the journey ahead.
As the Class of 2026 steps into this new chapter to face tomorrow’s challenges, they carry with them the school’s core values of Wisdom, Perseverance, Health, and Gregariousness. We extend our warmest congratulations to our graduates, and wish them a future filled with bright aspirations and brilliant accomplishments.
