The Alumni Association (AA) successfully held the first Art Jamming on 18th December 2021 as part of an effort to nurture aesthetic sense, one of TST’s major concerns in 2021-22.

AA Chairman Herman WAN and AA Advisor Ms FAN Ho-yan were among the 30 alumni taking part in the event. In addition, Mrs TAM LEUNG Yen-ying, our former Vice-principal and former AA Chief Advisor came back as a surprise visit. The participants all shared the joy of homecoming in warm chats and reminiscences.

At this event, nine children visited their parents’ alma mater and engaged in a series of activities prepared by alumna Monnie WONG and three Form 5 student helpers. Children relished the painting, storytelling and paper plane folding activities. Meanwhile, the session for adult alumni was led by AA Chief Advisor Ms HO Wai-yin, assisted by alumnus Matthew CHAN and four Form 5 student helpers. The participants had a taste of mindfulness through paying attention to their instant feelings, accepting unexpected outcomes of their watercolours, and refraining from viewing their own unique creations critically. The session ended with brush lettering of Bible verses lighting up lives.

Thanks to the support from our alumni and the assistance offered by Form 5 Visual Arts students, it was a memorable afternoon in the Art Room, a warm place for everyone in TST. The Alumni Association hereby extends heartfelt gratitude to every participant and helpers.

The second Art Jamming will celebrate the Chinese New Year by writing “Fai Chun”. It will be held on 29th January 2022 (the 27th of the 12th lunar month).
